The Pothole Gardener in Bristol

We've been fans of the Pothole Gardener at Gardens Illustrated for a while now, enjoying the updates emailed through when a new miniature garden has been created - take at look at the Pothole Gardener's website to find out what it's all about. In fact, we were so taken with the creations that we decided to run a feature on the guerilla gardening phenomena, finding out more about the 'gardener' behind the gardens and to highlight some of our favourites.

Best of all, as part of the feature we asked the Pothole Gardener to come down to Bristol to create a little garden especially for the magazine.

So, not only did we get to meet the thoroughly charming Steve Wheen - marketing creative by day - guerilla pothole gardener by early morning/weekend, but we watched him recreate the cover of the October issue in miniature amid the cobble stones of a mid-town Bristol pavement.

Here's the video of how it all happened, including an interview between editor Juliet and Steve - the magazine's new best friend.

You can read the feature on the Pothole Gardener in the October issue (190) of the magazine.

Don't forget the magazine is now available as a digital download via the App Store.
