Daisies, Dandelions and Sunflowers (Asteraceae)
University of Oxford Botanic Garden
Stephen Harris, Druce Curator of the Oxford University Herbaria will introduce participants to the diversity of this commonly grown plant family, introduce some of the main characters used for the recognition of genera and highlight some of the features that gardeners and plant breeders have manipulated to create the diversity of forms with which we are familiar.

Course - Garden & Landscape Photography
Run by the English Gardening School, held in Hampshire
Run by garden photographer Clive Nichols, this 2-day course will be held at the garden and home of Rosemary Alexander, which offers a wealth of plant and landscape subjects. The first day will concentrate on garden plant portraits, and the second day on local woods and landscapes. Depending on the weather students should be prepared to shoot later into the evening when the light is better and wind drops.

Creating a Wildflower Meadow

Join Charles Flowers from Flowers Farms for this day course looking at the process of establishing a wildflower meadow. The day will include an illustrated talk and an outdoor session looking at Palmer’s Leys, the meadow that we are currently working on with Charles. Topics covered will include buying or collecting seed, propagating, the effect of soil type and pH, seedbed preparation, sowing and managing.
