Annual garden sculpture exhibition in the grounds at Showborough Houes. There will be sculptures by over 60 sculptors, many of them local to Gloucestershire. All pieces are for sale. There will also be a small indoor exhibition of work by invited local artists.

Sculpture for Gardens

The fifth annual sculpture exhibition at the Moncrieff-Bray Gallery coincides with the Chelsea Flower Show and features work by 20 artists. It takes place in the three acre gardens of Woodruffs Farm, Petworth, West Sussex. A wide range of work is on view in stone, bronze, glass, ceramic, steel and wood.

Arts & Crafts Garden Festival at Coombe Trenchard

Two-day garden festival with specialist nurseries selling an exciting selection of British-grown plants. There’s a programme of expert talks in the GARDENS ILLUSTRATED Marquee and the chance to watch craftspeople at work, as well as musical entertainment, Edwardian croquet on the lawn and a traditional Devon garden tea. It’s the perfect way to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.

British Iris Society 90th Celebration Weekend

RHS Garden Wisley hosts a weekend of events celebrating iris growing, including a display of Iris prints from the Lindley Library in the Glasshouse Gallery.

Saturday 2 June
The British Iris Society Summer Show, with iris displays both historic and modern and a series of iris talks throughout the day introduced by Colin Crosbie, Curator of RHS Wisley.

Sunday 3 June
Lectures from leading Iris experts including Tony Hall from Kew Gardens, Claire Austin known for her Chelsea displays and Terry Aitken a leader American hybridiser.

Holker Garden Festival

The Holker Garden Festival in Cumbria celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with a feast for all the senses, bringing together the very best of gardening, countryside, food and crafts. Gardeners should enjoy the stunning show gardens and horticultural and floral art marquees. Plenty of activities for all the family plus this year for the first time, visitors can extend their stay and dance at an evening soiree held in atmospheric teepees.

Garden photography workshop

Better Plant and Garden Photography
As part of Dorset Art weeks, Philip Smith, Photographer and Director of International Garden Photographer of the Year is leading two workshops on 1st and 8th June at Colmers View creative retreat near Bridport, Dorset.

The day will be a mixture of lecture, discussion and practical work in local gardens with the aim to provide
· a sound technical foundation for your photography
· a deeper understanding of digital processing and the creative opportunities it offers
· tools and techniques to help you ‘see’ photographs in the garden before taking a shot
· insights into macro close-up photography
· tips and tricks for working with light and colour

Bristol's Get Growing Garden Trail

Visit over 30 community gardens, allotments and orchards around Bristol to find out more about growing your own fruit and veg as part of a group or in your own garden.

The Bristol Food Network has produced a leaflet which will be available at venues across the city in the weeks leading up to the trail. The trail guide gives details of locations and opening times for all the participating organisations and can be downloaded now from the Bristol Food Network website.

Rose Week at Sudeley Castle

High Beeches Wildflower Walk

Expert botanists will lead several walks on behalf of the charity Plantlife. Explore the best, natural, acid, wildflower meadow in the south east, while it is full of flowers and find out about the rich local flora and fauna.

The meadow has not been ploughed in living memory and has an outstanding variety of wild plants. More than 200 species of wildflowers have been recorded throughout the garden.

A day ticket costs £6.50. Accompanied children aged 14 and under enjoy free entry.
