Woottens is a true plantsman’s’ nursery, situated in rural Suffolk the nursery grows and propagates a diverse and unusual range of herbaceous perennials. Woottens also specialises in Bearded Iris, Hemerocallis, Auriculas, Pelargoniums – mainly species and scented leaf forms & Hardy Geraniums. The nursery has a dedicated and knowledgeable team of staff that offer talks, courses and garden designs as well as an all year round mail order and collection service. The nursery opens its Iris and Hemerocallis fields each year for viewing in May and July. The nursery is passionate about helping nature to continue to thrive and each year they implement new methods to reduce their impact on the environment, including: No use of chemical herbicides, pesticides or fungicides on container grown stock. Instead choosing to use natural predators and manual controls. Reusing and recycling all plastic pots, trays and labels. Providing compostable packaging for mail order customers and supporting small businesses and using local suppliers.


The nursery runs many specialist events throughout the year including open days for their collections of Bearded Irises, Auriculas, Pelargoniums and Hemerocallis. A grand spring plant fair is held every year on the first Sunday in May and attracts plant specialists from far and wide plus a host of artists, craftsmen, local food producers and much more.

Opening details:

Nursery Open for browsing and buying every Saturday from March-October. 10am - 4pm
Nursery Office open for enquiries and Mail Order Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm.
