Château du Rivau, France
The gardens of Château du Rivau have been called ‘remarkable' by France's Ministry of Culture and contain a collection of more than 450 different roses, all chosen purely for their fragrance. Combined with the thousands of other plants in the garden, they make a botanical paradise. Created by Patricia Laigneau over more than 20 years, they are contemporary gardens that evolve with the seasons. And botanical excellence isn't the only thing that defines them - they're also exceptionally original, as each one is inspired by a medieval legend and features surprisingly unique plant groupings. The RHS partner gardens are also cultivated without the use of chemicals.
