Chastleton House and Garden Virtual Garden Tour

Take a look around the gardens of the National Trust's Chastleton House in Oxfordshire in our virtual tour

Published: April 22, 2020 at 3:23 pm

As part of our virtual garden tour series, we are diving into lots of gorgeous gardens, offering history alongside current videos and photographs from the people who run them. It’s not as perfect as wandering the borders in person, but watching a little slice of what’s happening in gardens throughout the country is a lovely way to spend some down time.

This virtual garden tour is at the gardens of the National Trust's Chastleton House, in Oxfordshire. Meet operations manager Becky Farr who will guide you through the garden and its many stories. Don't miss the nighttime glimpses of some of the wildlife that visit Chastleton when everyone is asleep. Discover our other virtual garden tours here.

Chastleton is a Jacobean county house which was built between 1607 and 1612 and owned by the same family until 1991. The inside of the house barely changed in that time and the place feels very much like a time capsule, transporting you back 400 years. The garden largely has its original Jacobean layout and there is a plethora of topiary to look out for.
