His Majesty King Charles III will be collaborating on the design of a Feature Garden at the RHS Sandringham Flower Show this July.

The RHS Royal Legacy Garden will be designed by award-winning garden designer Catherine MacDonald, of Landform Consultants Ltd, in consultation with HM The King. Initial discussions have already taken place and the design is set to feature a bold colour scheme and include many of His Majesty's favourite plants.

Although the design has not yet been finalised, the garden will be the centrepiece of the inaugural RHS Sandringham Flower Show, the first RHS show to be hosted at a royal residence. After the show, the garden will become a permanent feature of Sandringham Estate in some form, where the formal gardens are open to visitors from March to October.
The garden will celebrate The King's passion for horticulture and provide inspiration to visitors to the show. Utilising local Norfolk materials, the space will also champion horticultural and rural skills while supporting and promoting biodiversity.

The garden’s designer, Catherine MacDonald, said: “It is an honour to be collaborating with His Majesty The King on the design for this garden that will be a centrepiece of the first RHS Sandringham Flower Show. We are in the early stages, but I am finding the process inspiring and looking forward to including some of His Majesty’s ideas and most-loved plants for visitors to enjoy.”

As well as helping with the design of The Royal Legacy Garden, King Charles III will attend the show with Queen Camilla and Their Majesties will be selecting the winners of two new awards.
The King will personally select his favourite exhibit for biodiversity, while the Queen will choose her favourite Upcycled Container from the category that allows communities to repurpose discarded materials to create a mini container garden.
RHS Sandringham Flower Show takes place from 22 - 26 July 2026.
Tickets start at £33.85 for RHS Members and £38.90 for the general public. Under 16s go free.
