Big changes for RHS Flower Shows in 2026: here's what's different

The RHS will be holding two touring flower shows in July 2026. Here is everything we know about them so far.

The RHS has revealed details for two new touring shows that it will be hosting in July 2026. RHS Badminton Flower Show will see the Royal Horticultural Society at the Badminton estate in Gloucestershire for the first time, while RHS Sandringham Flower Show will be the first show hosted at a royal residence.

These shows will be in place of two RHS staples - RHS Tatton Park and RHS Hampton Court, which the Society announced in 2024 would no longer be taking place every year. In April 2024, the RHS announced this new system of touring shows, the biggest change to the RHS Flower Shows calendar in decades, in a bid to reach more people in different areas of the UK. In 2025, the first of these new touring shows occurred at Wentworth Woodhouse in Yorkshire.

RHS Hampton Court will return to the site in 2027, while an exact return date for RHS Tatton Park has yet to be announced but it is set to be hosted there every three years.

At RHS Badminton Flower Show, celebrated garden designer Jo Thompson will create The Archers 75th Anniversary Garden to celebrate this milestone for the iconic BBC Radio 4 show. The garden will bring to life one of The Archers’ most important locations, Bridge Farm, and will be a productive, sustainable and family-centred space.

Jo said of the garden: “I’ve loved the challenge of imagining how that much-loved place might translate into a real garden at RHS Badminton, and I can’t wait to see it come to life, with plenty of small details that will feel familiar to listeners.”

These features will include Bridge Farm’s visitor entrance and notice board with bunting and pots; orchard fruit trees growing within a wildflower meadow; a cheese making area and a potting bench with branded Bridge Farm vegetable boxes.

Other highlights to look out for at RHS Badminton Flower Show include the Artisan Gardens, celebrating heritage skills and crafts, where there will be demonstrations of work including dry stone walling and basket making.

The Young Designer of the Year competition will also be hosted at Badminton, as well as a Floral Marquee showcasing 72 growers and nurseries. Community gardening will be a key theme, with the RHS hoping to involve many community and school groups in the show. Applications are now open for the Barrels and Wheelbarrows and the Allotment Borders category under the theme of Live, Love, Local.

The RHS has also revealed some big news for RHS Sandringham Flower Show, with HM The King set to collaborate on a feature garden with designer Catherine MacDonald. King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be in attendance at the show, and personally choosing the winners for two new awards.

Elsewhere around the site, Show Gardens will showcase cutting edge garden design and the Creative Coastal Gardens category will champion resilience and innovation in coastal planting, echoing the location of the Sandringham estate, close to the Norfolk coast.

As well as the Floral Marquee at Sandringham, which will feature 51 growers, there will be a Flower School for demos by highly skilled floral artists and the Long Borders category that will provide problem-solving inspiration for visitors to take home to their own gardens.
