RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018 Sarah Price

Staff writer Alys Hurn chats with garden designer Sarah Price to find out a little bit more about her Mediterranean-inspired garden for show sponsors M&G and why this particular design is her ultimate garden fantasy.

Her background in fine art and a deep love for nature and plants has helped Sarah Price become one of the UK’s leading garden designers. She co-designed the gardens at London’s Olympic Park and in 2012 Sarah received a RHS Chelsea Gold Medal for her Daily Telegraph garden.

After a six-year gap, Sarah is once again designing a Chelsea this year, this time for show sponsors M&G. This is a garden to wander through, via informal paths, where Sarah’s layered planting skills are applied to species from Mediterranean climates. In this episode, Sarah explains what excites her most about returning to the show and why this particular design is her ultimate garden fantasy.

It's a space I would love to have myself, set in a mediterranean climate. So it's warm and sunny and really expands on a simple, timeless idea that walls, a tree and a seat can create a intimate, sheltered and beautiful space to be.
