The change comes as part of this year’s plans for a Virtual Chelsea Flower Show 2020, which will take place between 18 and 23 May 2020 online. This year the competition will be opened up to the public, who will vote on the plant of the decade taken from the last ten years of the Plant of the Year.

Voting will open on Monday 18 and run until Friday 22 May. The winner will be announced on Saturday 23 May 2020.

This year the Product of the Year will also take place, with a People’s Choice award also available for people to vote.

Launched in 2010, the RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year aims to promote the work of breeders and nurseries. To stay up to date with all our Chelsea coverage, sign up to our daily virtual newsletter.
