Charlotte Harris: Professional planting insights

Wednesday 11 November, 7pm. £16
In this exclusive talk, discover designer Charlotte Harris’s practical secrets for successful planting schemes.
“What I find exciting about planting design is watching a plant asked to do a real job in a space - whether it is softening a hard line of architecture, screening a boundary or framing a view - that still stops you in your tracks,” she says. “For me, great planting is never doing just one job. It’s an equilateral triangle: it must be evocative and beguiling; it must deliver spades of rich ecological benefit; and it must do the practical, heavy-lifting work of planting as a tool.”
In this talk, Charlotte will draw on Harris Bugg Studio projects to explore how this plays out in real gardens, looking at everything from how texture can carry a scheme through the year to bed structure and mounding, as well as planting that punctuates a view or knits a relationship between architecture, and more.
Sarah Price: Alchemy in the garden - Creating beauty from the discarded and overlooked

Thursday 19 November, 7pm. £16
In this exclusive talk for Gardens Illustrated, garden designer Sarah Price will share insights into her working process, discussing how she creates gardens out of unexpected resources and sources of inspiration, drawing on her training and love of art and untended landscapes.
Case studies will include her Gold winning and much-lauded Nurture Landscapes show garden for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023, which has now been relocated to Benton End in Suffolk; and The Exchange Garden in Erith, London.
Join us live for her 45-minute masterclass followed by 15 minutes for your questions at the end, or book your tickets now to catch up on demand at a time that suits you.
Charlie Harpur: Five years wild - A new way to garden at Knepp

Wednesday 25 November, 7pm. £16
Join head gardener Charlie Harpur from Knepp’s Rewilded Walled Garden in West Sussex as it reaches its fifth anniversary, for a behind-the-scenes look at one of Britain's most pioneering horticultural experiments.
This masterclass will trace the garden's journey from its first planting to the present day, exploring how rewilding principles, ecological science, biodiversity monitoring and on-the-ground observation have continually reshaped how it is managed.
Discover the practical ways the team approaches the ongoing development of the garden, from their ‘grazing index’ to selective pruning and structures to support biodiversity. Find out more about all their successes and setbacks - from challenging climatic conditions to the realities of hidden surprises - and hear how five years of learning are informing the garden's future.
