Tinnisburn Plants – Advertisement

A treasure trove of choice and unusual hardy plants, as well as some old favourites. Tinnisburn Plants is an RHS Gold Medal winning nursery that is building a reputation for offering customers quality plants that are a little out of the ordinary. Nursery owner, Helen Knowles, has a lifelong passion for plants and is always
propagating and growing new gems that are trialled in the gardens at the nursery to test their suitability for customers gardens. Many of the plants
grown at Tinnisburn come from the Himalayas, the most famous being the eye-catching Meconopsis or Himalayan Blue Poppies, as well as amultitude of Primulas. There are also woodland plants for both dry and damp shade, moisture loving perennials, alpines and some of our less common wildflowers.
The gardens at Tinnisburn Plants provide colour and interest all year round, starting with snowdrops and over 50 varieties of daffodils in the
spring, along with Helleborus, Rhododendrons and a riot of colour in the woodland garden. The wildflower meadows then put on a wonderful display from late spring into summer, attracting bees and butterflies while the ponds are alive with frogs, newts, toads, damselflies and dragonflies.
