Garden design competition announced by Royal Parks Guild and Royal Hospital Chelsea

The online garden design competition is for landscape and garden design students

A garden design competition for landscape and garden design students has been launched by the Royal Parks Guild and the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Design Online - Say It With Plants is a competition that aims to promote the benefits of intergenerational ideas and working. Any age group and groups of no more than three students can enter.

The competition is to design a container display for the Royal Hospital Chelsea that's 1m square, 400 metre dee. The supporting structure can be up to 2m tall and plants will be provided by the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Designs should be inspired by what landscape or garden design means to the entrant.

Chelsea Pensioners will be involved with by growing plants for the winning entries, crafting prizes and designing certificates. They can also enter their own container display design too.

The winners will be selected by well-known members of the horticultural community.

To enter, a registration of interest must be completed by 7 August. The final designs must be submitted by 28 August 2020.

Winners will be invited to construct their design at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, during the 2021 Chelsea Flower Show.
