Gardens Illustrated ‘s best gardening books of 2020

We pick the best gardening books of the year, and don't miss the chance to win them all

As 2020 comes to a close, Gardens Illustrated takes a moment to reflect back on the gardening books that have been released over the last 12 months and picks out the best of those releases.

In a tumultuous year, many people found solace in their gardens, helped along by a raft of key gardening books. This year’s favourites range from the practical: Aaron Bertelsen’s Grow Fruit and Vegetables in Pots, to the memoir, Alice Vincent’s Rootbound. There’s also books that draw on gardening and science, such as The Well Gardened Mind by Sue Stuart-Smith, and books on how to make your growing and eating more sustainable, such as How to Grow Dinner Without Leaving the House, by Claire Ratinon.

We’d highly recommend all of these 2020 gardening books. What’s more, we’re offering one lucky reader a chance to win all of them, with our competition offering one complete set of all 14 books.
